 - Primary foundry alloys

Primary foundry alloys are widely used for different parts used in automobile and other engineering industries. Primary foundry alloys are produced in the form of small ingots (6-8 kg), small ingots (15 kg), or a T-shaped ingot.

Cast alloys of primary aluminum are the following systems and standards:

     AlSi (including AlSi3, AK7, AK9ch, AK9pch, AK9E, AK9S, AK12, AK12och, AK12pch,
EN AB-AlSi9, EN AB-AlSi11, EN AB-AlSi12(a), EN AB-AlSi12(b), alloys with high silicon);
     AlSiMg (including AlSi7Mg/A356.2, AlSi10Mg, AlSi11Mg);
     AlSiCu (including AK5M2, AK6M2, AK8M, AK10M2N, AK12M2, AK12MMgN).

- Foundry and Basic Pig Iron PL1, PL2

Merchant pig iron comprises three main types: BASIC PIG IRON, used mainly in electric arc steelmaking, HAEMATITE PIG IRON [also known as FOUNDRY PIG IRON], used in mainly in the manufacture of grey iron castings in cupola furnaces, and NODULAR PIG IRON, used in the manufacture of ductile [also known as nodular or spheroidal graphite - SG] iron castings. Pig iron contains at least 92% Fe.

 4.0-4.5% carbon,

<0.04% sulphur,

<0.3% phosphorus

UBC (aluminum used beverage can scrap), Taldon, Talcred, Taldork

Taldon - BALED ALUMINUM USED BEVERAGE CAN (UBC) SCRAP -

Shall have a minimum density of 14 pounds per cubic foot (225 kg/m3), and a maximum density of 17 pounds per cubic foot (273 kg/m3) for un flattened UBC and 22 pounds per cubic foot (353 kg/m3) for flattened UBC.

Size: Minimum 30 cubic feet (.85m3), with bale range dimensions of 24" to 40" (61 to 132 cm) by 30" to 52" (76 to 132 cm) by 40" to 84"(102 to 213 cm).

Talcred - SHREDDED ALUMINUM USED BEVERAGE CAN (UBC) SCRAP

Shall have a density of 12 to 17 pounds per cubic foot (193 to 273 kg/m3). Material should contain maximum 5%fines less than 4mesh (U.S. standard screen size) (6.35mm).

Taldork - BRIQUETUED ALUMINUM USED BEVERAGE CAN (UBC) SCRAP

Shall have a briquette density of 50 pounds per cubic foot (800 kg/m3) minimum. Nominal briquette size shall range from12" to 24" (30.5 x 61 cm) x 12" to 24" (30.5 x 61 cm) in uniform profile with a variable length of 8" (20.3 cm)minimumand 48" (122 cm)maximum.
